Hey Everybody!
So it’s been a while!! I’m in LA at the moment and so happy for the rains that just came last night and today. I admit to having danced and I admit it, I prayed for it too.( I’m sure I’m not the only one)
In case you don’t know already I currently have a jewelry raffle running to raise funds. The fires are still happening and thousands of people are displaced, have lost every single possession,some of them including their vehicles, their pets are missing, they are literally staying wherever they can find a friend to put them up if they are lucky enough to have a friend who can do that for them. The shelters are completely overrun with injured and hungry animals. These shelters are in desperate need of funding. The things that are currently in place for emergency relief are extremely scarce. People are stepping up on their own and getting involved to help, to volunteer and do whatever they can to help others.
I decided to put up some pieces of my jewelry that I have made by hand!! The Turquoise and the opals are all hand carved and polished by yours truly too! The Turquoise is very precious old stock and is natural, untreated. Most turquoise these days is stabilized. They do this by soaking it in various kinds of plastic and or epoxy mixes to retain its color and make it stronger. For my purposes and my jewelry it has to be natural. I believe different stones have different properties. That is the tradition I was raised with and I do believe in it. Each piece of jewelry is one of a kind and I was going to keep them as prototypes for building my first collection but in light of all that’s happening, I’ve decided to sell them to raise as much as I can as fast as I can.
Every piece that I have made has a special intention built into it. All have been hand stamped as well with my personal Art Sigil andor my name stamp.
